It is strange that both are “human”!!!

the same eyes,

the same eyelashes,

the same hands,

the same fingers,

the same air in their lungs,

the same footsteps

upon the fragrant soil..

the soil of Palestine

that both sets of steps walk upon.

And the truth is that this soil belongs only to it.

But…

time has run out,

the game is over,

and this soil has drowned…

in tears and blood…

for years and stories long gone.

Tragic.

Look at what each of them holds in their hand:

one carries flowers…

speaking the language of love.

And the other carries a rifle…

knowing no language but the language of blood.

نفس العينين

نفس الرمشين

نفس اليدين

نفس الأصابع

نفس الهواء في الرئتين

نفس خطوات القدمين

فوق التراب العطر

تراب فلسطين

الذي تمشي عليه كلتا خطواتهما

والحقيقة أن هذا التراب لا ينتمي سوى لها

لكن...

انتهى الوقت

وانتهت اللعبة

وغرق هذا التراب...

بالدمع والدم...

منذ حكايات وسنين

مؤسف.

...

شاهد ما يمسك كل منهما في يده

أحدهما يحمل ورودا...

تتحدث بلغة الحب.

والٱخر يحمل بندقية...

لا تعرف سوى لغة الدم

This is a passage from a poem I wrote over the course of a few days.

I was waiting to finish it properly,

but being Palestinian means

issue upon issue upon issue,

there is no room for emotions even.

No space for paper either, because of how much I want to express.

Well, this is a section from an upcoming poem.

It is beautiful, but very pale.

Since I keep trying to find an opportunity or a space to write about beauty,

but they have left us neither beauty nor even peace.

So I’m sorry.

This is my cause, and this is what I want to write about my land and my people.

Whoever likes my poems, wait for tomorrow.. I will publish it in full and attach an audio recording of me reciting it in my Arabic voice.
