The two killed today in their attack on a Palestinian village come from a settlement known as Havat Gilad. This is not a normal settlement (if there is such a thing). It is the home of the most extreme fringe amongst the most extreme fringe of a society that is always extreme:

1) It was founded by Itay Zar after his brother Gilad Zar. Moshe Zar was a member of the Jewish Underground, the settler terrorist organization active in the early 1980s and convicted for terrorism.

2) It was built on private farmland belonging to residents of the Palestinian village of Far'ata. Even Israel considers it illegal. Israel promised the United States it would dismantled.

3) Havat Gilad has been adopted by B'nai Elim, an American Kahanist organization which runs its PR.

4) The residents of the settlement have been repeatedly involved in attacking and harrasing local Palestinian villages starting in 2014 when two residents were convicted for setting fire to Palestinian-owned vehicles and onward.

5) They conduct systematic harassment by outpost residents against local Palestinian farmers, including blocking land access, cutting down olive trees, and structural intimidation.

Havat Gilad is an illegal terrorist nest created in order to destroy the Palestinian way of life. They are not victims. They are not civilians. They are terrorists and the residents of this hellhole provoked what ended in tragedy today.
