After watching And So It Goes (a new HBO documentary on the life of Billy Joel), I decided to reopen my investigation of the bar that inspired Piano Man. The question I asked back in 2022 was whether my dad had actually visited the bar back in 1973, and whether he could even be one of the characters mentioned in the song. My new investigation features conversations with some of the people involved with this new HBO documentary (including the director), and the results are fascinating!
