I have been working on this article all week, I have spent too long away from Africa.

That is why I am launching this series — The Sahel is not just analysis, it is the story of a region exploited, steeped in violence, and left to quietly suffer.

The Sahel provides critical resources that allow the global north to feed its hunger for technology, and industry. Regardless of who is watching or not, the effects of what is happening there will be severe.

We start in Mali, because it is the first Domino in what will be a saga of suffering that will change the world, whether the west wants to look or not.
