Fashion designers have always been inspired by art. But when the Met announced this year's theme, I wrote that the best dressed wouldn't be the ones showing up in obvious references - this theme demands perspective. That said, here are some of the most iconic moments where fashion took direct inspiration from art. Beautiful? Yes. But if anyone shows up in something like this tonight, that's first year fashion student energy. We're expecting more.
