Stark DOR Sky Leading up to the Rain
Mar. 30, 2026
Although the sky was stark, flat, and DORish today, it did not negatively affect the mood. Spring is here and life abounds. It's never been greener and the creeks have never flowed so robustly.
Another rain is coming to the west, with snow for the Sierras. The media is rolling out drought scare tactics because this is the last moment of a dry spell between very big rain storms this season. People have forgotten that a month ago, we were slammed with our third epic multi-day storm of the rainy season.
Another thing people forget in their senseless hysteria over an obviously healing climate, is that rain and snow are both water, so if we got more rain than snow in the west this year, it really doesn't make a difference. In fact, the land is more fertile than ever, and the sky is higher in OR than in past years in photos from across the country. Even the photos from today's widely circulated drought propaganda piece from USA Today are extremely healthy, clear, and dotted with OR clouds.

After an unusually warm March due to DOR generated by the latest world events, the shift is here and temperatures will drop below freezing again for a few nights. We are forecast to have rain, and most likely snow on the higher peaks, which will feed the already flowing creeks this spring.
