2023 Houston Texans Outlook (5/25)

There are many coin flips to be determined over the summer for the Texans starting jobs at QB, RB, and WR. TE Dalton Schultz looks to be a given as far as his role while the fantasy market waits to see if C.J. Stroud indeed wins the starting quarterback job. I gave him 90% of their opportunity in the first version of the projections.

Dameon Pierce and Devin Singletary will be active players in the Texans’ backfield. Pierce earned the edge in touches based on his early success in 2022. Singletary will have smaller running lanes in Houston.

The veteran experience of Robert Woods earns him the WR1 role out of the gate. I liked the playmaking ability of Nathaniel Dell over John Metchie over the long haul, so he is my upside wideout in this offense.

In July, these projections will be updated as the training camp news filter in from the Texans.
