In addition to our regular mallard ducks, sandhill cranes, and Canada geese, this morning there are hooded merganser ducks and wood ducks on our lake. This was my first time ever seeing the wood ducks, and the mergansers are rare to see here.

I tried to open the glass door to get a closer look, and the wood ducks flew away. I need to use some stealth if they come back! Here’s one of the hooded mergansers from through the window, sigh. They’re so cute!
