My 47 types of eggplants from all over the world are coming up nicely. All but one of them have sprouted, (and I’ve just planted a second round of that one) so I may end up with just 46. These heirloom varieties are from many parts of the globe, including: Africa, South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East / West Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

Such a beautiful microcosm in such a small space of wonderful cultures and cuisines to celebrate from around the globe. I can’t wait to watch these beauties grow and to photograph and taste all of them! ❤️
