Yes, this!!! I was an automotive engineer, and it was NOT for me. After a few years of this, I spent the next 22 years raising my 5 kids. This was so hard and wonderful. And now I’m doing my dream job of gardening and food blogging. And it’s definitely not easy. But oh, how wonderfully rewarding it is! Thanks for empathizing with the tough road along the way. ❤️
So well said. I also think the “I quit my job” space is largely dominated by people who left impressive executive or “6-figure” careers.
While there’s nothing wrong with that (afterall, it doesn’t make the decision any less scary), we need more examples of people leaving normal, average-paying jobs who are just as entitled to feel burnt out, alienated, and to write about it.
