Make money doing the work you believe in

I’m feeling tugged in so many directions right now, and just trying to breathe. Spring is really coming along fast! There’s so much I want to do, and I’m feeling spread so thin. And yet I’m so excited to get to all of it. Here are some things I’m working on to share with you guys:

  1. Veggies, herbs, and flowers: My seedlings are growing steadily under my grow lights. I’m thrilled to get them planted soon. Also, my winter-sown seeds are mostly coming up well. And I’ve also direct sown many seeds into the garden beds, with many more to do as my spreadsheets keep me on track. There are so many heirloom varieties from around the world that I’m excited to share with you and cook with as they ripen.

  2. Berries: I’ve ordered more currant, gooseberry, and blackberry shrubs to add to the ones I’ve planted last year. I’m awaiting the arrival of one more order to plant them all. And I’ve planted some European elderberry varieties for their wonderful flower fragrance and flavor. I’m looking so forward to using them in the kitchen!

  3. Herbs: Yesterday I did The Great Herb Garden Cleanup of ‘26, and my shredded hands are aching as I type. I have so many new varieties to include this year in the around-300 types I can fit in my herb garden every year.

  4. Garden posts: I have 3 more gardening newsletters from last year in my second batch to convert to blog posts, to get more views and have everything in one place. It’s so much fun to revise them and revisit the photos from last year. I’ve shared the first batch of revisions, and I’ll get the second round to you asap.

  5. Video editing: I’m learning to use the video editing software Davinci Resolve. It’s ridiculously capable and intricate, and it feels like being back in engineering school to learn how to use it! I love its capability with removing wind noise, which is a huge issue in my garden. I’m realizing more and more that it’s not enough to just share photos of what I’m doing in the garden. I really want to SHOW you what I’m doing. And I have a really fun clip I’m working on from my most recent visit to the Baker Creek Spring Planting Festival. Now, if I can just get past feeling disconcerted and old being in front of the camera, it’ll be so much fun to do smell and taste tests in the garden with all of you!

  6. Recipes: I have 2 recipes that are battle-tested and ready to photograph and write up to share with you as blog posts. And there are so many more from all over the world that I’m in the middle of researching and testing! I can’t wait to get to these to share them with you.

And of course there’s more, and I’m already running around just trying to get through the things above. Thanks so much to all of you for being there on these gardening and cooking adventures. I’ll get to all of this and share it with you as well as and as soon as I can! ❤️
