Senate Race in Georgia: Former University of Tennessee head football coach Derek Dooley, who has no previous political experience, didn't vote in multiple presidential elections and declined to register as a Republican in several states, has surged into second place in the Republican primary after Georgia Governor Brian Kemp toured the state with him to introduce him to Republican voters.

In addition to being Dooley's former college roommate and best friend, Governor Kemp has awarded more than $27 million in school contracts to Dooley's company, Centegix, which appears to be financially thriving both inside and outside of the State of Georgia. Federal records show that Daniel Dooley has donated $100,000 to Kemp's political action committee, and that Kemp's PAC has, in turn, poured money into Derek Dooley's US Senate campaign.
