This clip is the perfect example of how JD Vance will deflect from really answering a question and try to pivot to a Trump narrative that is completely untrue. 

Instead of explaining that the Trump administration has gone too far with ICE detainment and immigration policies at the border, Vance pivots away from reconciling his Christian values with his statements and actions. There are a LOT of voters who have soured on this administration for their human rights violations, and Vance just completely devalued that perspective.

The pivot itself is laughable, as Vance goes directly into a mantra about Donald Trump being the most “humble” person he has ever meant. The fact that Vance can sell something so ludicrous, with a completely straight face even though you can see right through him, should frighten every voter in the United States of America as much as it frightens every woman who is paying attention.

This version of a one-two punch on the interview front, where you have the facts to back up any pivot Trump and his people attempt to make on policy, is how EVERY PERSON speaking to any Trump official should handle every appearance.
