Make money doing the work you believe in

Prequel or Sequel?

My current dilemma as I work on Book 2 of my Harriet Honeybee series.

I'm loving the world-building I've been creating for both stories, but I feel VERY drawn to the women in Book 1, Grandma Zuzu and her sister Magda, and their backstory.

If you've read my first book, Harriet Honeybee and the Testament of Seers, you'll know that the women are a crucial main part of the story. Harriet's journey is about discovering that she comes from a powerful ancient line of women Seers who have ruled their realm as Matriarchs, a world currently governed by Patriarchs. Harriet is in line to become the next matriarch.

Book 2 might be a prequel, revealing the backstory of the matriarchs and how they became who they are, OR it could jump straight into Harriet going to the Seers Academy. (I currently have 10,000 words for that and love all the new characters.)

Developing her powers and uncovering her history and family, which lead her into other challenges she faces that were introduced in Book 1.

Maybe I should do both?🤷🏽‍♀️

Which do you prefer?

Sequel OR Prequel?

My curious mind wants to know.

Love,
