The app for independent voices

I’ve been thinking about how often we pray for clarity when what we really want is control. We say, “Lord, show me the next step,” but what we mean is, “Show me the next step, the step after that, the timeline, the budget, the emotional impact, and whether I’ll still like my hair in the process.”

Meanwhile, Scripture keeps giving us this maddeningly simple pattern: God speaks, people walk.

Abraham walked without a map. Moses walked without a résumé. Peter walked on water with nothing but a command and a heartbeat of courage. Nobody got the five‑year plan and a ven diagram. They got a word and a direction.

And somehow, that was enough, right?

Maybe the real spiritual discipline here isn’t discerning God’s will. Maybe it’s just surrendering our demand for a guarantee before we move.
