šŸŽ™ļø EP 57 | The Radical Act of Rest: Why Burnout is a Kindness Emergency

You might not know this about me, I absolutely despise hustle culture.

Not only is it destructive to our overall wellbeing (physically, mentally, and spiritually), but it is actively making us less present, less patient and less kind to the people who matter the most to us.

There’s a bizarre (and, frustratingly persistent) myth that constantly working ourselves to the brink of burnout is a sign that we’re doing life right. This episode is my best effort to burn that myth to the ground, and humbly speaking, I’m confident that I nailed it šŸ˜‰.

Still though, I’m not naive. A lot of us (myself, definitely included) lead incredibly busy lives where rest feels like a luxury.

If that sounds like you, please know that this episode will go WAY deeper than simply saying ā€œtake a nap.ā€

This episode was recorded to express the urgent need for us to build restorative rest into our lives, without guilt. Today, I’m going to provide you with a powerful and highly-practical framework for you to do so, without delay.

As a reminder, in every episode of The Kindness Extremist Podcast making three promises to you, dear listener:

  1. I’ll tackle a real challenge that’s standing in the way of a kinder world.

  2. I’ll share three practical strategies you can use immediately to overcome that challenge (and create a kinder world in the process).

  3. I’ll do it all in 30 minutes or less.

I can’t wait for you to listen to this one!
