šļø EP 57 | The Radical Act of Rest: Why Burnout is a Kindness Emergency
You might not know this about me, I absolutely despise hustle culture.
Not only is it destructive to our overall wellbeing (physically, mentally, and spiritually), but it is actively making us less present, less patient and less kind to the people who matter the most to us.
Thereās a bizarre (and, frustratingly persistent) myth that constantly working ourselves to the brink of burnout is a sign that weāre doing life right. This episode is my best effort to burn that myth to the ground, and humbly speaking, Iām confident that I nailed it š.
Still though, Iām not naive. A lot of us (myself, definitely included) lead incredibly busy lives where rest feels like a luxury.
If that sounds like you, please know that this episode will go WAY deeper than simply saying ātake a nap.ā
This episode was recorded to express the urgent need for us to build restorative rest into our lives, without guilt. Today, Iām going to provide you with a powerful and highly-practical framework for you to do so, without delay.
As a reminder, in every episode of The Kindness Extremist Podcast making three promises to you, dear listener:
Iāll tackle a real challenge thatās standing in the way of a kinder world.
Iāll share three practical strategies you can use immediately to overcome that challenge (and create a kinder world in the process).
Iāll do it all in 30 minutes or less.
I canāt wait for you to listen to this one!
