One sad thing about the rise of non-monogamy and open relationships is that we are making the term “mistress” obsolete. I don’t condone adultery but there’s a decadent glamour and implied villainy to being someone’s mistress. How drab to just be a pre-approved and unlabelled actor in someone else’s marriage.
