I have a system. Systems for systems, as my helpful friend pointed out. She insists no one she knows has a system for staying on top of returns for items ordered online. I am dubious.
My system is this: my family has a shared photo album. Whomever wants items returned initiates the process and uploads the return QR code or barcode to the shared album, usually as a screenshot that also shows the items associated with the return code. Items to be returned are placed by the requestor in a specific bag in the trunk of our shared car.
When there are items added to the album, I get a notification and drop off the items enroute while running errands. The requestor is responsible for tracking the refund, and when received, will delete the photo from the shared album. This system works well for us.
