I love commissioning my talented friends to do art for my pieces. My buddy william did a great job drawing me playing one of Prince’s famous “cloud” guitars in front of Paisley Park.

The cloud guitar has an interesting history! The body shape was adapted from a design by New York luthier Jeff Levin. He had about a dozen of them custom made in different colors. The first one appeared in the Purple Rain movie. The curly upper arm is for balance, so it's more comfortable to hold while standing. Makes sense why he preferred it as his reliable touring guitar.
