Sometimes I really lose my guitar mojo. It’s a spiral where I don’t practise, then my dexterity starts to deteriorate making it tougher to play.
Tonight I picked up my newish Springer Guitars Firehawk and started to fire through some scales. The string tension is pretty high as on this instrument I use Curt Mangan 11-52 gauge and it gave me a good work out.
I have been playing a lot of acoustic recently which has been really enjoyable and regularly use six different tunings which fucks with my head, so practice is essential.
Heavy strings are required as many are drop tunings which require thick, fuck off gauges // 12-54 and 13-56.
Most of the day was spent mixing/adding parts to our new single with an interval for gym and cooking lunch.
Yes, today has been a good one…
Tomorrow morning I plan to practice some piano before we go and see Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Lisboa - preceded by a curry. Review to follow next week.
Did I mention I hate practising?
