I’m going to be ~a brat~ and put Funeral Ladies of Ellerie County on this list

Does anyone have any recommendations for books written in the 21st century where Christianity or Catholicism is portrayed well, but without seeming cheesy? I’m looking for books where faith doesn’t feel forced; rather, it is as natural to the characters as breathing. Thanks!

Is the tide turning on the Rupnik case?

“I assure you, we are bathed in love and mercy. We each have a Father, a Brother, a Friend, a Spouse of our soul, Center and King of our hearts, Redeemer and Savior, bend down over us, over our weakness and our impotence, like that of little children, with an inexpressible gentleness, watching over us like the apple of His eye, who said, “I will have mercy and not sacrifice”, a Jesus haunted by the desire to save us by all means, who has opened Heaven under our feet. And we live, too often like…

22 subscribers doesn't seem like a lot but if 22 people came to my house and asked me what I'm writing about it would be like crazy so it's a lot.

Hot Take: Substack is just as susceptible and welcoming to the mindless tendencies of other social media platforms.

This is why short “notes” about random things will get infinitely more attention than a poem or essay or story containing the poured-out heart of a writer.

We are addicted to easy things.

Substack is not the golden redemption from social media that it is preached to be. That redemption must take place in our own hearts and minds before any real difference can be spotted.
