Substack is in danger of collapsing under its own weight. There are just too many worthy accounts here now to expect readers to cough up $5 for every writer they want to read. There needs to be some kind of subscription/revenue sharing mechanism so subscribers aren’t constantly asked for money for every damned article they’d like to read. Sell tokens. Punchcards. Come on, SS, INNOVATE ALREADY.

The New York Times is weirdly making the claim that the new Trump administration is building an unprecedented surveillance apparatus, one that defies a history of keeping state databases siloed to “prevent misuse.”

Even if allegations about “purloined” data are true, the entire mission of agencies like the DHS has been to combine and anal…

Nothing quite like seeing an entire nation — Jews and Arabs, young and old, secular and religious — stopping in the middle of their day to honor our fallen soldiers in a moment of silence. Israel is a special place, and the sooner our enemies realize we’re not going anywhere, the better we’ll all be.

Trump so quickly and effectively secured the border, with no new laws, that it's pretty much not even mentioned in the news anymore. But it's remarkable!

Historically the ruling class used war to reduce the size of the able-bodied population to prevent revolution at home. Kill off the strong young lads and the Praetorian Guard will still be able to protect the king. The downside risk of course was losing the war. In the late 20th century the ruling class discovered that they could get all of the benefits of war — massive profits and reductions in the size of the able-bodied population at home — via the vaccine program. Instead of the ruling clas…

I'm deeply skeptical of the notion that NIH can just gather a bunch of data, run a regression analysis, and know the causes of autism.

Vaccine records are stored in many different places so it's nearly impossible to create a complete patient profile.

Most medical records won't show exposures to pesticides, phthalates, EMF, etc.

AI only makes things worse by giving a false sense of confidence to bad data.

Data from "wearables and smartwatches" are worse than useless.

To figure out the causes of …
