I published 150+ articles and dozens of newsletters before I started to give “writing advice.”
And it breaks my heart to see that new writers think they have to do the opposite because here’s the harsh truth:
You’ll only learn how to write by writing stuff you care about.
You won’t show up for 100+ times if you hate what you do.
And you WILL hate what you do if you force yourself to write content you don’t care about.
If you’re new, start by writing what you’re excited about.
Explore your own curiosity.
Write the stories you wish you had read years ago.
Write about your experiences.
Screw finding a niche at first and just write as much as possible to build your own confidence.
Once you’re comfortable showing up, niche down to have the best chance to actually grow a large audience and monetize your work. 🧡
