I get that this is an unpopular view but:

We need more journalists & fewer pundits.

We need more original reporting & fewer hot takes riffing off the dwindling bits of journalism that are still being produced.

We don't have this because real reporting is labor-intensive, expensive, difficult and doesn’t fit neatly into a partisan box — whereas pontificating on YouTube is lazy, cheap, easy and simple to transform into pure party propaganda.
