Make money doing the work you believe in

This post was originally shared on the old FB page, where they racked up nearly 20,000 shares before Meta hit the big red nuke button.

So I’m reposting them here, because what happened in this sting operation still matters... especially now.

Back in 2019, Pauline Hanson thought she was in a secret meeting with the National Rifle Association. It was, in fact, an undercover documentary team.

She wasn’t under duress. No one twisted her arm. She wanted this meeting.

She discussed weakening Australia's gun laws... laws put in place after the Port Arthur massacre, in exchange for NRA money and support. Her advisor described the Port Arthur victims as “just a political opportunity.” Pauline herself nodded along, eyes gleaming as if an RSL pokie machine just hit the jackpot, right around the moment she thought a cheque was coming.

Let’s pause on that... an elected Australian senator was filmed lobbying for foreign money to change our laws. It wasn't rumour. It wasn’t innuendo. It wasn't out of context.. It was filmed and broadcast globally, receipts and all.

And now, after the Bondi tragedy... with grief still raw, and security top of mind, a certain corner of the conspiracy crowd is shouting that this is the woman who should be PM.

The same woman who looked at America’s gun epidemic and thought."Yeah, let’s bring that here."

You couldn’t write satire better than this if you tried.

Australia’s firearm legislation is one of our few bipartisan triumphs. It's the reason we don’t have school shooting drills. It’s why our kids don’t wear Kevlar to class. And it's held firm precisely because we’ve rejected the kind of political culture Hanson flirted with... cash-for-guns lobbying, grievance-as-governance, and fear dressed up as freedom.

So if you’re one of the folks saying Pauline’s “the only one who’ll keep us safe”... mate, she was willing to trade your safety for an easy cheque and a buffet.

And that should never be forgotten.
