This is my grandmother, Cicely, who passed away last week aged 98. The pic was taken during a commercial photoshoot she did in her 80s. Ever so often, I see this pop up on greeting cards or instagram memes.

Firstly, this tells you a lot about the women in my family. Secondly, she took up modelling in her 70s and did rather well at it.

A photo of her hangs in the National Portrait Gallery. Modelling in elder years gave her disposal income and nice days out (if a little chilly in this one 😉).

I turned 50 last year and sometimes worry if I’ve ‘still got time’ to change and develop, make impact, do new things. This picture reminds me that it’s NEVER TOO LATE.
