Yes, I was talking from the dev side of things. Some libraries can be used with literally 3 lines of code without knowing what's happening in the background. If you need to tweak things you have to get to know some of those building blocks. Of course, as an end user, the library is written and maintained by someone else, so you will always be dependent from them.
