I've been running a business globally since 2015.
I've lived in the UK, Copenhagen, and now Doha. I've raised two daughters across three countries. I evacuated a war zone in March with two checked bags, one carry on, and no idea how long we'd be gone.
I've been writing about the global life for over a year.
But I haven't been fully honest about my point of view. Until now.
Why now?
Because I'm done being careful.
I spent years softening what I actually think about America, about hustle culture, about the loneliness that comes with building a life in a country that was never designed to hold you. I was worried about who it might alienate. Who might not understand. Whether it was too much.
It wasn't too much. It was the truth I wasn't ready to say out loud yet.
I'm Sonaya. I write the Global Life Project for entrepreneurs and professionals who are asking the question most people are afraid to take seriously. And that is whether the life they want belongs somewhere else entirely.
Not the fantasy version of that question. The real one. With a framework, a family, a business, and skin in the game.
I've been here for a year. I'm just now warming up.
I hope you'll stick around for it. 👋🏽
