Last week, on the very last day of the Year of the Snake, I got a phone call from one of my clients to say that, due to a restructure, the year-long calendar of work I thought I'd be involved with would be coming to an end for me in four weeks.

It was like déjà vu meets corporate redundancy PTSD all over again, one year later.

Once. Again. Things felt unsettled in my career.

How could they not?

That call was 30% of my forecasted income for 2026 disappearing into the ether. It was work I enjoyed, with people I genuinely liked. But the decision was made by "higher-ups" to consolidate the team, and being the newest kid on the block. I got the boot.

That's (corporate) life, kiddo.

This week, I've had not one but two former coaching clients book me for big copywriting projects for their businesses.

One door may have closed, but two (more aligned) doors have opened in its place.

If you're going through it, be kind to yourself, be patient, stay open and always believe a miracle is around the corner.

Because it absolutely is.

I'm living proof of it.
