The private prison companies that run ICE detention reap 25 percent of their profits by coercing detainees to work for pennies an hour instead of hiring workers protected by state and federal labor laws.

But what these companies likely did not count on is people in ICE detention organizing a labor union—La Union de Secuestrados for ICE, or the Union of People Kidnapped by ICE—which recently called for a labor and hunger STRIKE.
