They are changing the textbooks and I will bet cash money that we will see a return to the older political narrative in them (the one that emphasizes unity and assimilation of difference in service of nationalism, possibly with a new theocratic bent to it) rather than the current one (the one that emphasizes diversity and race/gender consciousness with an emphasis on the marginal as the center of politics). It’s all another attempt to control the story of who we are and who we should be.
