This one is for my Gen X peeps…

Because I don’t think people really sit with what we’ve lived through. And my God… we have seen some things.

Remember when people would smoke in restaurants, airports, and hospitals?

We grew up thinking that was normal.

We literally watched the Challenger explode on live TV while we were in school.

And I know y’all remember that white Bronco being chased down the interstate. That was the beginning of O.J. having the whole country glued to the TV.

Then 9/11 happened… and nothing ever felt the same after that.

We watched two wars play out in the background of everyday life.

Then the Great Recession hit and a lot of people lost everything overnight.

We watched Hurricane Katrina humble New Orleans.

Then there’s Columbine… and that moment in time changed what school feels like forever.

Y2K had us all wondering if the lights were just going to go out at midnight.

And then there’s the pandemic.

That is a lot for one generation to carry.

And somehow, in the middle of all that…

we also got a Corey Feldman album.

I’m sorry… that part still gets me every time 😅

We didn’t just grow up.

We adjusted.

Again and again.

So when something feels off now… or heavy… or familiar…

there’s a reason for that.
