This is one of the clearest pictures of the gospel I’ve ever heard.
A king… both perfectly loving and perfectly just.
A crime is committed.
A sentence is declared.
Justice must fall.
But when the guilty is revealed…
…it’s his own daughter.
If he pardons her — he’s not just.
If he punishes her — he’s not loving.
So he does something no one expects.
He steps off the throne…
wraps himself around her…
and takes the punishment in her place.
He dies.
She walks free.
That’s the gospel.
Justice wasn’t ignored.
Love didn’t look away.
God didn’t bend the law…
He fulfilled it — Himself.
And when Jesus said, “It is finished”…
He wasn’t saying He was done.
He was saying the debt was.
If He’s not finished…
you’re not finished.
