— Do everything in your power to sit in the window seat.
— Be certain you have a camera in arm’s reach (aka not in the overhead bin). Take off and landing are almost always the times I’m inspired to snap.
This sounds common sense, but it’s easy to get lost in the jumble of what’s in your checked bag, hand checking film through security, airline status and everything else that hassles you before you get on a plane these days. Usually I’m just relieved to be in my seat and taking off, and before you know it I’m kicking myself for not being ready to snap a beautiful sunrise or mountain through the clouds.
