In a couple of days’ time, I’ll be setting off to watch La Vuelta Feminina 2026. The race starts in Galicia and finishes — for the first time ever — on the forbidding slopes of l’Angliru.
I’ll be drinking wine from the Rias Baixas and cider in Asturias. There’ll be padrón peppers (stage 3 starts in their birthplace, Padrón), pulpo (octopus, which Galicia is famous for), and maybe even some pilgrims, as the route criss-crosses the Camino de Santiago.
Oh, and I’ll be watching some bike racing too.
I’ll be sending out dispatches every day to let you know what I’ve been up to, give you all the behind the scenes action from the bike race, and share any gossip from on the ground.
Subscribe to follow along on the journey. The first instalment drops tomorrow.
