The app for independent voices

Our MG/C editor, Erin Vachon, is looking for readers to join their 2026 Multigenre/Chapbook reading team! Readers are COMPENSATED!!!

MG/C reader apps will open on Fri Jan 30 and will close at the end of Fri Feb 6, or after we've received 250 applications (and if this is anything like past reader apps, we WILL close early). The MG/C reading periods run from April 1 through June 1. More details forthcoming on the app, which will be available on Fri Jan 30 (usual link: splitlippress.submittab… ).

To answer a couple of other questions that came up with the other reader apps: yes, this position is fully remote. Yes, we are open to international applicants. The time commitment is ~2hrs/week during the reading period.

Since there will be a cap on applications, we're giving you the heads up now so you can get your information in order:

Please include a short biographical statement, any relevant journal/reading experience, and any personal multigenre writing experience (writers often make the best readers).

Our MG/C editor Erin would love to hear about a multigenre book you recently read and enjoyed--and what you enjoyed about it.

This team will alternate yearly between full-length multigenre manuscripts (125-250pg) and prose chapbook manuscripts (60-100pg). The 26MG/C team is slated to read full-length multigenre manuscripts.

Most of all, let us know why you are specifically interested in reading for Split/Lip Press! Our readers typically stick with us for multiple seasons, so we're really looking for the best fits--and we hope it'll be you!
