A little late to this, but I wanted to offer my congratulations to Thalapathy Vijay, who not only didn’t spend a single dollar on advertising or anything throughout his political campaign but also was faced with so much oppression from the opposition parties, but somehow became the Chief Minister (governor) of his state. Well, how did this happen?

Those who know me well know that politics interests me, so I had to read and talk about this extreme victory.

The average gubernatorial political campaign costs $10-20 million, and this is with an established party. This man started a party 2 years ago, and has broken the rule of a two-party system that has lasted for 49 years. He didn’t have any alliances that granted him seats in the government. He didn’t pay off people for votes. His star power from acting and a true heart to do well for the people is what has given him the role of Chief Minister of his state.

The amount he faced to get to this point is crazy. His movie, which was supposed to be his final farewell to his fan following, got postponed (it was supposed to release in January. It’s now May, and it still hasn’t been released). He was set to deliver a speech, but a riot broke out (led by the opposition party, according to reports), and many people were killed. He was blamed for this. In the middle of all this, he went through personal family issues as well. Just search his name up if you want to read about so many of the issues he faced. He set the intention to break this 49-year rule by these two parties, who have made money off of the people. He has done exactly that.
