The app for independent voices

A friend who published a magazine at the time (early 2000s) told me that I was elitist because I worked as an editor for a local newspaper. The internet, a novelty at the time, would level the playing field, he exclaimed, giving voice to EVERYONE. The web soon shapeshifted into the cesspool of ill-informed opinon, a refuge for confirmation bias, that it is today rather than become a place to find reliable information or data and established fact.

Mr. Bezos also owns The Washington Post, a once credible watchdog of the federal government. As publisher with little to no publishing experience, he nixed an editorial that was critical of Trump. He has gatekeepers to hold the line and do a fine job. Why not listen to their expertise? Perhaps they are too elitist?

What you call gate keeping I call quality control
