Day 2/3 of my re-review of my MDA SHIELD IDIQ notes. This is what $10.5B in RDT&E funding actually says:
𝗣𝗘 𝟭𝟮𝟬𝟲𝟰𝟰𝟮𝗦𝗙 explicitly demands "leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning-enabled applications." Not "AI platforms" - they want sensor data fusion that reduces operator workload.
𝗣𝗘 𝟬𝟲𝟬𝟯𝟴𝟵𝟬𝗖 mandates "maximizing use of digital engineering and open systems architectures." Translation: They're buying speed, not tools.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 "𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿-𝘁𝗼-𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻" 𝗽𝗵𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲 appears repeatedly across multiple PEs. This is MDA's core pain point - closing the loop fast enough to counter hypersonic threats.
𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: Frame everything through speed to field. "90-day deployment" beats "5-year roadmap" every time.
𝗕𝗗 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Capabilities are important, yes - BUT sell outcomes. The MDA is zeroed in on intercepting threats.
