Natalie Sandoval also tackles the issue in her article on pit bulls, saying “If we accept these figures, we can say, without presuming anything as regards the nature/nurture argument, that pit bulls make up a large percentage of the most dangerous dogs in America.”
Both articles circle the same uncomfortable point: when a problem is persistently explained away instead of addressed, the cost is externalized onto everyone else. Children, neighbors, bystanders—people who never opted into the risk.
