It’s wild how long this argument has been treated like taboo when the evidence has been sitting in plain sight. We’re glad to see Evie Magazine agrees.

Natalie Sandoval also tackles the issue in her article on pit bulls, saying “If we accept these figures, we can say, without presuming anything as regards the nature/nurture argument, that pit bulls make up a large percentage of the most dangerous dogs in America.”

Both articles circle the same uncomfortable point: when a problem is persistently explained away instead of addressed, the cost is externalized onto everyone else. Children, neighbors, bystanders—people who never opted into the risk.
