Meta isn’t opening stores to sell product, it’s opening them to learn faster.
Which, to be fair, is exactly what Amazon said when it launched bookstores and Go. (which is fascinating if you think about it!)
The difference is what they’re hoping to learn.
Amazon used stores to test systems, checkout, logistics, a better way to transact.
Meta is using stores to test behavior, what people try, what confuses them, what actually clicks with new tech.
One is operational learning. The other is human learning.
And in an AI-driven world, the second one might matter a lot more.
