My husband had all of the kids bring me the cards he had them make me for Mother’s Day during breakfast this morning.

My stepson was quick to snatch his back and say, “No, that’s for MY mom!”

My husband tried to correct him, but I just shrugged it off and said, “Ok, that’s so nice of you! Should we have your sister sign it, too, and you guys can give it to mommy in just a little bit?”

He’s five, so I’m not taking it personally, but definitely a very fitting way to start Mother’s Day as a blended family, and exactly what I wrote about in my most recent article!
