Respectfully, I think it’s good that the NYT facilitated this debate. This is a conversation that is happening. A LOT of people—a lot of women—have bought into the feminization-ruining-the-world thesis. It is good for liberal feminists that a thinker like Leah Libresco Sargeant, who is widely respected on the right, was given (and accepted!) the opportunity to vigorously push back on Andrews’ thesis. It makes it clear in a very visible way that you can be a skeptic of a certain flavour of modern liberal feminism without buying into the idea that women’s entry into the labor force is to blame for all of our social ills.
