Last night was the anniversary of my father's death, and also the last night of Passover. So we had a Mimounazeit. (That's what you get when Mimouna and a Yahrzeit meet.)

Mimouna is the Moroccan custom of inviting friends and family for a blowout with all of the fried, flour-based treats you can take.

I played some of my dad's favorite songs, including a lot of Springsteen, because dad loved him. I’ll share the mixtape that held the occasion together with all of those calories in my letter on Monday. 

In the meantime, here are the words that got me ready to celebrate life and memory the way we did.
