My wife and I were engaged on Christmas Day 31 years ago. On Christmas Eve this year we were both rushing around doing last minute things, and both ended up - unbeknownst to the other - at the same supermarket. We turned a corner and bumped into each other in the aisle. The exhilarating thrill of that, and the ensuing reflexive hug and kiss may have perplexed passersby, but it was as joyous as walking down that other aisle almost thirty years ago.
