Black and Blue, the album the Rolling Stones made while auditioning guitarists, gets a new Super Deluxe version featuring unreleased jams with Jeff Beck. Hearing the Rolling Stones attempt to transform Jeff Beck's "Freeway Jam" into a laid-back boogie is fascinating, not in the least because Beck seems bored by the whole thing. Even if I don't care for the new Steve Wilson mix, the record is aging surprisingly well. My review:
