Thank you Paul Krugman for pointing out the limits of US economic power as pertains to swaying the election prospects of Orban… especially since Trump is apparently unpopular with the Hungarian people. My mother’s parents came to America in 1915 from Hungary. So, I have a soft spot for that nation, even as it gave rise to someone whose ideas helped MAGA think it can take over the USA. Someday I hope to learn what tricks Orban used to come to power. I know how Trump did that here (life-long con man skills plus The Apprentice expanding his con job goals plus a hugely compliant journalism industry). But I don’t know what Orban had going for him. Thanks for being a voice of logic and reason in these crazy times!
