Fascists doing cleanups!? Great segments by 60 Minutes!

When there’s a major problem, like a tornado or a hurricane, it creates situational vulnerabilities in a population, making them much more vulnerable to propaganda and indoctrination.

I talk about this regularly. There’s also Robert Cialdini’s principles of influence, which he calls ""the law of reciprocity."" When somebody does something nice for you for free, you feel an obligation to respond in kind. You feel like you need to reciprocate.

Cults have known this forever. The Moonies used to do neighborhood cleanups for good PR. After 9/11, Scientology was on the scene rendering 'help', to people who were traumatized. Many, many other authoritarian cults do this as well!

So be aware. These extremist cults sow conspiracy theories about things like the government controlling the weather and other nonsense, and then show up to “help.” They want to take social media clips for PR and also to recruit vulnerable people.

We are under psychological attack, and this is about creating distrust and polarization. The solution is awareness and psychoeducation.
