A pretty amazing story in MLB tonight. RHP Carter Baumler, a Rule 5 draft pick, was told he made the Texas Rangers roster.

The manager did it during a mound visit in a game!

A 2020 O’s draft pick out of Des Moines, Iowa, Baumler has had 2 major surgeries derailing his career multiple times. I met him last summer in Aberdeen and interviewed him then about being on the comeback trail.

Little did I know months later he would be in the big leagues. Remarkable!
