The app for independent voices

Just published a new piece digging into the Panic of 1873 and how an economic meltdown quietly undercut Reconstruction.

Using Nicolas Barreyre’s work, I look at how the “money question” took over politics, fractured parties, and made civil rights feel expendable once fear and scarcity set in. The history feels uncomfortably familiar.

Would love to hear how it lands for you or what parallels you’re seeing today.
